Welcome to the NBW Series, a collection of playlists by those who dwell at the North Broadway House in Columbus. NBW has been home to many musicians over the years, and if we called it an incubation chamber for music, creativity, and faith, we'd only be half-joking. It's home to many good people, and we hope to share many good lists from them.
The first of these playlists is by Jeff Stuckel. Jeff is a hip hop artist in Columbus, making music under the name Keyoung. It's been said before of Jeff that his influence is a thread linking many musicians of all kinds across the Midwest, and that if you look closely enough you can see his influence in music, and as a friend. I recognized this truth when I met him and I've always seen a special type of magic in that. Listen to Keyoung's latest release, Illogical Rest, here, and on Spotify and Apple. Proud to share this playlist with you.
And also, please fawn over this art by Annie Churdar as much as we are.
By Jeff Stuckel:
I know this playlist is all over the place. Which is probably a pretty decent reflection of who I am as a person. I was going to make a really sad playlist with Brand New but honestly I've been trying to stay away from sad music lately because I have a girlfriend and a job so I'm not sad anymore and it's sick.
One time I was at my friend's house when he went to college and his roommates explained how they got drunk and beat the shit out of appliances in the front of their house on the cul-de-sac while blaring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony through a boom box. I always thought that shit was sick and that was my inspiration for this playlist. Enjoy.
