Chewy's Front Pocket Songs

August 09, 2017 in House

Our boy's a married spud, as his favorite uncle would say. We spent a week with Chewy in his hometown of Freeport, Bahamas, for his wedding. Here are some stray observations.

I used to think that Chewy wanted to impress people. In the past few years, though, I’ve grown to realize that a more accurate way of putting it is that Chewy wants to share his favorite things. He’ll invite you out for the best BBQ in town and watch you closely to see if you’re enjoying it, not because he needs affirmation, but because he doesn’t want to miss that moment where someone realizes they’ve found their new favorite brisket. He’ll send you a song and follow up the next week to see if you liked it, not to hear “Good job, Chewy,” but “Why did this take me so long?” The dude likes really good things, and hates keeping those good things to himself. These are great traits to have in a friend.

Chewy is really great at rebounding. In basketball.

Chewy spent the majority of his wedding week making sure that his people were taken care of, instead of worrying about himself.

Chewy's go-to roll at his Bahamas sushi spot is the baked lobster. He doesn't think it tastes like a baked potato.

Chewy thinks that KFC in the Bahamas and KFC in the States taste fundamentally different. They super don’t. But it is a good example of the way that he made his home feel enchanting (it super did).

Chewy hates bananas and is just now coming around to certain fruits and veggies, but still has a six pack somehow. If he does three push-ups, his muscles swell up a little and become vascular, and people ask him if he's been working out recently.

Congratulations, Chewy and Emily!

Tracks include two songs from each groomsmen that remind us of Chewy, as well as a few songs from Chewy himself that he's been bumping lately. Huge thanks to all the groomsmen for the Chewy standards: Jared, Phil, Corbin, and Baker.
